Joint Belgian-Dutch-German Summer School
The school is intended primarily for experimental high energy physicists preparing a PhD in particle physics, in particular during their first two years. The lectures cover both theoretical and experimental aspects of the field. This year the focus for the theoretical part will be on the Electro-Weak Standard Model of elementary particle physics. On the experimental side the focus will be on tracking detectors and electroweak studies at colliders. The school will take place at the SolCress conference center in the worldwide famous Spa resort. SolCress is located in a secluded forest area, a stone throw from the Spa terms, and only 15 min walk though the woods from the downtown Spa. In addition, Liege and nearby towns offer many attractions. It is worth noting that the Formula 1 teams, which will start their preparations for the F1 race at Spa-Francorchamps the following weekend, will replace our school at SolCress.
