Description
This seminar presents an overview of the main characteristics of gravitational wave stochastic backgrounds from the early universe: the typical frequency and amplitude one can expect, the present observational upper bounds, a summary of the possible sources. The second part of the seminar focusses on the gravitational wave background possibly arising from a first order phase transition in the early universe, describing its spectral shape and detection prospects.
