The Higgs Hunt at the Tevatron: Present and Future

Description
Both the CDF and DZERO collaborations have amassed so far over 6 inverse femtobarns of 2-TeV proton-antiproton collisions; they are still collecting data at a pace as fast as ever, and are geared up to exploit these data as much as possible to search for the Higgs boson, the only missing block of the Standard Model.
The combined effort of the Tevatron experiments has already allowed to exclude the existence of the Higgs in a narrow mass window, but the full dataset they expect to collect by running until the end of 2011 should allow to exclude much of the theory-preferred mass range, or to find the first 3-sigma evidence of the sought boson.
Details of the searches in the principal decay signatures will be discussed along with the methodology used to combine the results of the many analyses, with some emphasis on recent improvements and available further possible gains in sensitivity. Finally, some future scenarios of the Tevatron versus LHC race to the Higgs discovery will be briefly outlined.
