Description

In this seminar, I briefly overview the deep physics concepts behind the simple polynomial potential responsible for the Electro-Weak Symmetry Breaking in SM.

In the first part, we will first explore the mechanism of the EWSB in the early universe. We would discuss different scenarios of the phase transition and their connection to the gravitational waves and baryon asymmetry. Then, discuss the role of possible additional scalars from the extended Higgs sector models in the EWSB phase transition and explore the modifications of the Higgs potential in these models.

In the second part, we will look at the most up-to-date results from the LHC on the measurements of the Higgs potential parameters. We would discuss the fundamental constraints, such as unitarity conservation. Finally, we will look at future colliders' role in the precision measurements of the Higgs potential.
