Description
Kaons, as a minimal flavour laboratory, have been instrumental in
establishing the foundations of Standard Model (SM) of particle physics.
The focus of the present kaon experiments has shifted towards testing the
SM and searching for new physics at ever improving precision. The
measurements of semileptonic decays lead to precision CKM unitarity tests.
The studues of purely leptonic decay rates place constraints on the SM
extensions with two Higgs doublets. Finally, the measurements of
ultra-rare decays represent a unique probe into a variety of new physics
models. Recent experimental results and prospects of kaon physics will be
discussed.
