Description
This talk is the second part of the last Hector presentation (29/11/06, from slide 21 onwards). It will focus on some Hector's practical applications, as on the prospects. *************** Forward physics can be performed using Hector. Much information is produced from raw propagation of particules. Tagging and measuring specific events require a good knowledge of the acceptance of the dedicated forward detectors (Roman pots), and the chromaticity grids can also be of interest. Other quantities, like the irradiation dose coming from pure diffraction can also be evaluated. Besides this, a back trace of the particles to the IP allow the reconstruction of variables like the particle energy loss and angular kick after the interaction.
