Description
The knowledge of parton distributions and of their associate
uncertainties plays a crucial role in the full exploitation of the LHC
physics potential. I will present the main features and some results of the
NNPDF collaboration's global fit of Parton Distribution Functions (PDFs).
The approach is based on the the idea of combining a Monte Carlo sampling of
the probability measure in the space of PDFs with the use of neural network
as universal unbiased interpolating functions. I will show that the method
produces interesting results and it is able to overcome some drawbacks of
the traditional approaches.
