Processes with vector bosons and heavy quarks in the final state are important backgrounds both at the LHC and the Tevatron. W c jet is particularly interesting because it is a principle background to single top production, and so an NLO calculation will be very useful. I will discuss some of the details that go in to next-to-leading-order QCD calculations in the context of W c jet.
