This year, the 14th edition of the Belgian-Dutch Gravitational Wave Meeting will take place at UCLouvain, from the 7th to the 9th of October 2026. The aim of the meeting is to bring together people in our communities involved in gravitational wave science at large, ranging from instrumentation, to astronomy, to theory, and data analysis. This year, we propose a slightly longer duration to allow for more time to discuss various aspects in informal settings, in addition to offering room for presentation across all topics.

Both plenary and parallel sessions will take place at the Aula Magna

Directions

By car …

Louvain-la-Neuve is accessible via the E411, N4, and N25 motorways. Its town center is, for the most part, a pedestrian zone.

Note that the center of the city is fully pedestrian, with paid parking almost everywhere. Three car parks are accessible to all motorists, free of charge, on the outskirts of Louvain-la-Neuve.

  • The Baudouin 1st car park (210 spaces)
  • The Lauzelle car park (180 spaces)
  • The Rédimé car park (74 spaces)

No access permit or sticker is necessary to park your vehicle there.

By train…

Many stations are directly accessible from Louvain-la-Neuve, including along the line to Brussels. At Ottignies station, trains run to Brussels Airport, Namur, Charleroi, and Leuven.

Attention: Do not confuse Louvain-la-Neuve with Louvain (the French name for Leuven), which is another city on a different line.

From Brussels

Allow approximately 30 minutes. A change is required at Ottignies, except for certain direct trains (which take slightly longer).

From another country

Arrive at Bruxelles-Nord (Brussels North) or Bruxelles-Midi (Brussels South) train station, then take a train to Ottignies (which may also stop at Bruxelles-Central, Bruxelles-Schuman, and Bruxelles-Luxembourg).

Check real-time timetables and plan your trip at www.belgiantrain.be or download the SNCB mobile app.
