After its start-up on the 10th of september and its unfortunate stop 9 days later, the Large Hadron Collider will resume operations in spring 2009. Although a major part of the CMS physics program will require large integrated luminosities, to be collected during several years, many CMS physicists are right now preparing for the very first useful analyses, which will be feasible with the earliest collisions.
