Haitham Zaraket: "From particle physics to environmental sensors: a journey that is worth trying "

I describe in this talk two examples of our activities on environmental sensors. The fiber optics sensors: this was initially motivated by a work on temperature sensors at CERN/CMS. I report on our work on lowering the cost of the fiber optics interrogation. The second part will be dedicated to an image sensor that we developed, designed to map forest fuel content an essential element in forest fire simulation.
