Status of the CMS detector and of its tracker two days before the LHC startup

The 10th of September will be the long awaited startup of LHC. In preparation for that event, CMS has undergone several cosmic runs with and without magnetic field. I will present some of the lessons learned by the collaboration at that occasions. I will give more details about the status of it's silicon strip tracker.
