Microelectronic developments for pixel detector applications in High Energy Physics

Description
Microelectronic design is used to develop tools in the High Energy Physics (HEP) field to study the smallest constituents of matter in particle detectors. The choice of a technology to develop a detector, and the architecture, for a fast, low noise and compact readout (Front-End Readout Board), are defined by the experiment to be studied. A description of the last developments for the KEK-B experiment semiconductor tracker, where MAPS has been the technological option chosen, will be done.
