Description
The subjects of this presentation is the tier-2 facility that we are currently building at UCL. We will give a brief introduction on GRID computing and explain why LHC experiments chose this technology. Hardware and software specificities of belgian and especially UCL sites will be presented. At this point, a brief overview of current processor and storage technologies will be given. After that, a brief introduction of how GRID precisely works will be presented. At the end of the presentation, if people are interested, we can visit the computer room.
