Description
The DEPFET (depleted field effect transistor) is silicons sensor with an integrated amplification stage on a fully depeleted bulk. This technology allows to engineer pixelized detectors which offer large signal, low noise, low power consumption, high readout speed and radiation tolerance. Such detectors could be used in high precision vertex detectors as needed in a future linear collider experiment and as x-ray imaging detectors in astrphysics. The detector concept will be discussed and results from protoype detectors will be presented.
