Asymmetry measurements at colliders provide precise tests of the
standard model, and allow measurements of the properties of new
particles. Asymmetries can arise due to several mechanisms and can be
defined in various ways. In this talk, I will focus on asymmetries
arising from interference and parton distributions and will present
measurements with an emphasis on top quark and other heavy particles of
the standard model. In this context, along with measurements in the top
quark sector, I will also talk about asymmetries in Drell-Yan lepton
pairs and asymmetries that could be used in Higgs boson properties
measuments.
