Description
I will discuss recent work examining the LHC prospects of two Higgs doublet scenarios favouring a strong first order electroweak phase transition. General features of these kinds of models will be discussed a well as some constraints from current collider data before describing a detailed detector level analysis of two benchmark points. A key observation is that typical spectra of such models are very different from the types of 2HDM usually studied, opening new avenues for collider searches. The signature in question is the decay of a heavy pseudoscalar Higgs, A_0, into a Z boson and a heavy CP even Higgs, H_0; we investigate the bbll and the WWll decays of the heavy Higgs and Z boson. We find that even current LHC data may be able to constrain these scenarios and that the discovery prospects are promising for the early stages of the 14 TeV run.
