Description
Nicolas Lurkin - Study of radiative kaon decays with the NA62 experiment at CERN SPS *Abstract*: NA62 will look at in flight kaon decays to study a very rare channel. The detector is such that we can also study other rare decays. This project will focus on two radiative decays that are sensitive to new physics, CP violation and, by measuring some phenomenological constants will help improve theoretical predictions. Lucia Perrini - Search for the decay into tau pairs of the newly discovered 125 GeV boson produced in association with a W or Z. *Abstract*: A search for the newly discovered 125 GeV boson is presented looking at its fermionic decay to tau pairs. The search is performed in different final state topologies, where this new boson is produced in association with the leptonic decay of a W or Z boson. In particular, the master study's of the candidate, the W associated analysis, was performed in 2011 using 1.95 fb−1 and 7 TeV collision data looking at just the mu-mu-tau(had) final state. It will be also presented the Z associated analysis, the subject of candidate's PhD project, looking at eight different final states. The first preliminary results, using 2011 and 2012 data collected with a luminosity of 12fb-1 and at 7 and 8 TeV, will be showed. Middle term plans to optimize the analysis will be also presented at the end.
