Do we actually need b-PDF for LHC phenomenology? I'll present recent work done in collaboration with Maria Ubiali and Giovanni Ridolfi on the different ways cross sections involving b's can be calculated, common lore vs actual results and how long-standing puzzles between different ways of performing the same calculation in QCD can be understood.
