Description
I will present some work in progress on the Cosmological Constant problem in 1+1 dimensional quantum gravity. By reformulating a subclass of Generalized Dilaton Theories in terms of Liouville field theory, I will show how the cosmological constant can be calculated, inclusive of the quantum fluctuations of the matter and gravitational sectors. Cancellations between different contributions suggest a possible solution of the issue of a divergent cosmological constant in quantum field theory.
