Description
Many models beyond the standard model of fondamental interactions predict an additional and heavy neutral gauge boson decaying in various channels, such as the various Z' arising from grand unification theories or the graviton appearing in the Randall-Sundrum model of extra dimensions. The CMS experiment at the LHC, whose operation began in the end of 2008, allows with its increasing statistics to analyse the high-invariant mass spectrum for different physics channels. This seminar will focus on the two opposite-charge muons final state studied in my master's thesis and will introduce briefly the future analysis on the ttbar channel decaying semileptonically.
