The ”bad” Boussinesq equation is an ill-posed wave equation with one linear and one non-linear dispersion term. We discuss a numerical scheme and use it to validate earlier results by two of the authors and to illustrate key features of solutions: solitons, interaction of right and left waves and resolution of initial data into solitons. This is joint work with Christie Charlier and Jonatan Lenells.
