CBC updates —

ULB

Vincent:

- O4b, 1 public alert so far. Very small sky map thanks to V1. Discussion for chirp mass information task force: proposal for mass bins https://git.ligo.org/publications/o4/cbc/task_forces/-/issues/6#note_991669

- Offline analysis GstLAL not opening any boxes, rerunning the analysis. MBTA done with analysis, looking for injection recoveries

Bursts updates —

ULiege

Matteo: MMT group almost ready to start X-pipeline analysis. This Thursday second part of X-pipeline training, Patrick Sutton will highlight the some points related to the latest version of X-pipeline

Maxime: No new reviewers yet for GWpyxel (review talk before LVK!!!). Background complete, injections ongoing but worried about publication in the O4a paper because of the review. Ready for sure for O4b but not sure for O4a

Instrumentation - optics updates —

UCLouvain

Ricardo: Finished testing the equipment, it’s working! The scanner which was bought in October 2022 was delivered super in delay, it arrived 2 weeks ago. This scanner has better resolution and overall performances and it should be fully operational in 2 weeks

UGent

Daniela: Huge delay for delivery, but everything is now arrived, everything is assembled and the optical lab ready! Ready for preliminary measures for laser characterization

AOB —

Archisman:

- VSC meeting last week: Current LVK MOU extended to 2026, after LVK will be replaced with IGWN. A part of the discussion has been on IGWN formation, a part has been on the “Lessons learned” document (former “What went wrong”) and a committee has been set up to take care of this document.

- Election of speakers committee: the previous chair stepped down (Eric Chassande-Mottin), and nominations open for the chair role.

- Stable cavities: there has been a very long discussion, but a conclusion has not been reached yet.

- Next VSC meeting conflicts with ET symposium in Maastricht (Tuesday May 7, 2pm), most of us are going: request for replacement at VSC, maybe somebody who is not going to ET

Vincent: for anyone interested, slides of this morning's BCM are here: https://indico.ego-gw.it/event/696/#day-2024-04-17
