X(3872): the Quintessential Hadronic Molecule The X(3872) is a c c-bar meson discovered in decays of the B meson in 2003. This remarkable particle is a hadronic molecule consisting of two charm mesons whose mean separation is an order of magnitude larger than the size of typical hadrons. I will explain why, despite the limited data on the X(3872), this identification can be made so unambiguously.
