In this weeks BSM meeting, I will guide a discussion through the main results of my PhD. I will discuss the Non-Relativistic Effective Theory and how this provides a perfect framework for interpreting data from direct detection in a model independent way. In an effort to explore future analysis strategies, collaborators and I developed a new computational tool, which in turn, led to a study of how, increasing the maximum recoil energy in experiments, could improve our understanding of DM properties. Finally, I will discuss how this work can be embedded in to a more global analysis by describing a model inspired by B anomalies, which requires both future collider and direct detection searches to fully probe the parameter space.
