Among the various possibilities to quantize metric-like variables, the affine Quantization procedure is a proposal which deserves some attention. First, I will compare the "usual" canonical quantization to the "affine" quantization. Next, the "affine" coherent states will be introduced and their relevance for the quantization of gravity will be discussed, in the context of a toy model of cosmology.
