Description

Inaugural lecture by Prof. Agni Bethani at 16h45 followed by a reception.

Abstract:

More than a decade after its discovery, the Higgs boson remains central to the still open questions in particle physics such as origin of electroweak symmetry breaking, the shape of the Higgs potential and the possible presence of new particles and interactions. In this seminar, I will discuss why the Higgs sector continues to be a key target of the collider physics programme.

The focus will be on Higgs boson pair production, its connection to the Higgs self-interaction, and the experimental state of the art in Standard Model and BSM HH searches. I will also discuss Higgs boson triple production and future prospects for measuring HH and HHH production at upcoming colliders. This is the talk that will make you excited about collider physics all over again!
